When a client’s safety is tenuous, their clinical record becomes extra important. What do we include in notes for someone in an abusive relationship? What do we include in the notes of a child who has witnessed abuse, knowing an abusive caregiver may try to gain access to their file? After our January training on working with Domestic Violence survivors, several participants expressed a desire to delve deeper into the complexities of clinical note writing in dangerous cases.
