When a client’s safety is tenuous, their clinical record becomes extra important. What do we include in notes for someone in an abusive relationship? What do we include in the notes of a child who has witnessed abuse, knowing an abusive caregiver may try to gain access to their file? After our January training on working with Domestic Violence survivors, several participants expressed a desire to delve deeper into the complexities of clinical note writing in dangerous cases. Join us on Monday 6/26 for a discussion of guidelines based on ethical best practices and a conversation about the use of clinical judgment in complicated situations. Feel free to bring a thorny case to discuss!
