Short Bio or Description of your Practice (Optional)
I graduated from Boston College with a Masters in Clinical Psychology and received my LMHC (Licensed as a Mental Health Counselor) in 2016. I have worked in various settings including a school, a hospice, an outpatient addictions treatment program, and several colleges. I have helped a wide variety of clients throughout my career and have developed a particular interest in working with issues of trauma. My experience in trauma treatment ultimately led me to become trained in EMDR.
For starters, I am a firm believer that all of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are your brain’s unconscious attempts to get your needs met. My goal as a therapist is to help you pull out of self-judgement and create a greater understanding of these responses. I am a flexible, and spontaneous therapist who will work diligently to individualize the therapeutic experience to your needs. I ultimately believe that this is your life and no one has the right to tell you how to live it. That being said, I am also a direct therapist who won’t shy away from the hard conversations.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I will use various trauma treatment skills, mindfulness, insight development, and humor. In our work together I will encourage you to reflect on things in new ways, provide some education on what may be happening in your brain, and guide you to a greater understanding of who you are. I look forward to connecting with you and walking with you through these next steps in your journey.
