Dr. Dawson is the author of "Sand Therapy for Out of Control Sexual Behavior, Shame, and Trauma: Treatment Beyond Words". She specializes in treatment of Sex and relationship issues, "Sex addiction", Out of Control Sexual Behavior, Complex trauma/PTSD, LGBTQ, sexual pain, mismatched desire, Gender identity, Non-traditional relationships. She utilizes the following modalities: EMDR, IFS, Clinical Hypnosis, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, IFS combined with a sand tray and Kalffian Sandplay, informed by the Polyvagal theory and Neurobiology to help people go through the healing process to understand themselves. She offers a unique multifaceted, sex positive approach, is a supervisor by AASECT to train other therapists in sex therapy and she is a Registered Sandplay Practitioner.
